Personal data and your rights
If you are a customer of ours or visit our website, we process your personal data. Naturally, you have a say in this too. We explain exactly what rights you have here.
-
Would you like to know what personal data we process about you? In ASN Online Banking, you can see exactly which contact details we have on file. If anything has changed and you wish to update this information, you can do so in ASN Online Banking. Would you like to know what other personal data we have processed? Please use the ‘View data’ form. Once we have received the completed form, you will receive an overview of all the personal data we process about you. The overview contains further information:
- An overview of the personal data we hold about you.
- The reason why we process this data.
- Who we share this data with.
- How long we retain your data.
- An overview of the criteria determining how long we retain the data.
- Who provided us with the data if it was not provided by you.
- The logic, importance and consequences of automated processing.
You can choose how you receive the overview: by post or via ASN Bank Secure Mail. For more information, visit Secure Mail - ASN Bank.

Do you feel that we are processing and storing your personal data without justification? If so, you can ask us to delete this data. Please use the ‘Delete data’ form for this purpose. Once we have received the completed form, we will assess your request.
Good to know
We always retain your personal data for as long as required by law. After that, we will delete it, unless there is a valid reason to retain it for a little longer. For example, if you have submitted a complaint and we are still dealing with it. -
Is your personal data incorrect or incomplete? If so, you can ask us to temporarily stop processing your data. Please use the ‘Temporarily stop processing data’ form for this purpose.
-
Would you like to request your personal data? There are several ways to do this:
- You can request a copy of various documents, such as account statements or an application form.
- You can ask us to transfer certain data to you – a process known as data portability – such as an overview of your current products. To do this, please use the ‘Request data’ form.
- Do you need your data because you want to switch to another bank? If so, you can use the Switching Service. You can request this service from your new bank.
Once your request has been approved, you will receive the data via ASN Bank Secure Mail. For more information, visit Secure Mail - ASN Bank.
-
There are two situations in which you can object to the processing of your data:
- If we use your data for direct marketing and you would prefer us not to. You can let us know via our customer service team or ASN Online Banking. You will also find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every commercial email.
- If we have weighed up our interests against your (privacy) interests, and you feel that we have not done so correctly. Our Privacy and Cookie Policy sets out when we carry out such a balancing of interests. Would you like to object? Please use the ‘Objection to the processing of my data’ form.
Right to rectification: updating your details
If the details we hold about you are incorrect or incomplete, you can usually update them yourself straight away via ASN Online Banking or the ASN app. Under ‘Manage yourself’ > ‘Change contact details’, you can easily update your address, email address and telephone number. If you don’t have ASN Online Banking or the ASN app, you can also email us with the changes.
Changes to personal details, such as your name or date of birth, can be made at one of our branches. Read more about changing your personal details here.
